English I Family Dynamics
April 8th to April 17th
Family- a group of individuals living under one roof
Dynamics- a pattern or process of change, growth, or activity
Essential Question: How do societal forces, such as pride and poverty, impact family dynamics?
Learning Targets
·         I can cite strong and thorough textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.
·         I can write routinely over extended time frames (time for research, reflection, and revision) and shorter time frames (a single sitting or a day or two) for a range of tasks, purposes, and audiences.
·         Initiate and participate effectively in a range of collaborative discussions (one-on-one, in groups, and teacher-led) with diverse partners on grades 9–10 topics, texts, and issues, building on others’ ideas and expressing their own clearly and persuasively.
·         I can present information, findings, and supporting evidence clearly, concisely, and logically such that listeners can follow the line of reasoning and the organization, development, substance, and style are appropriate to purpose, audience, and task.
·         I can demonstrate command of the conventions of Standard English grammar and usage when writing or speaking.
